Land of Lincoln Lacemakers

Our hotel is the Clocktower Resort located at 7801 East State Street, Rockford, IL 61108. 815-398-6000 or toll free 1-800-358-7666. Mention Land of Lincoln Lacemakers to get the special room rate of $123 per night plus tax, for up to four people per room. A roll-away bed is $10 per day. A Coco Key Water Resort overnight group rate of $149 includes four water resort pases. Reservations must be made with the hotel by July 3, 2008 to guarantee this rate.

All registration forms must be postmarked ON or AFTER February 14, 2008.  The registration fee is $180 this year to allow for inevitable increases in transport costs and teaching fees.  Registration includes the Sunday evening High Tea (we are expecting two very important guests so this will be an occasion to wear your lace finery; remember to pack it near the top of your suitcase); lunch on Tuesday; the banquet on Friday; Wednesday evening program; the ever-popular Teacher Showcase; and the newly popular Tatting Olympics. Classes and tours are additional.  A check or money order in U.S. funds to cover registration, classes, optional tours, and guest tickets must accompany your registration form.  All lace enthusiasts are welcome to attend; however, current IOLI members will be given preference in class choice.

Fees for registration and classes cancelled prior to July 1, 2008 will be refunded with the exception of $30.  After July 1, 2008 no refunds will be made.

The nearest airport is Rockford (RFD) and the hotel will do prearranged pickups.  Chicago O’Hare airport (ORD) is served by VanGalder Bus Company directly from the O’Hare airport bus depot or International Terminal 5 to the hotel; presently the cost is $17 one way and the trip takes approximately 1.25 hours. Check their website at http://www.coachusa.com/vangalder/ for timetables before booking your flight.  VanGalder is also available from Midway (MDW) to O’Hare if you want to find a more economical flight and don’t mind a lot of transferring.  For those traveling by train, there is a bus depot near the downtown Chicago Amtrak station.  By road the hotel is opposite the State Street exit ramp of Interstate 90, so an easy find.
